![]() The shelf as well as the pictured wire shelf unit may be positioned anywhere from the floor level to the top of the side extensions. During assembly, I was able to install the shelf by myself, but it is large and heavy and better handled by two people. I noted in the instructions that when converting the multi-purpose scaffold to a miter saw table, the upper shelf needs to be turned upside down to expose the saw attachment brackets. This seems like a very solid arrangement for added stability and safety along with the included brackets to attach the scaffold to a wall to keep it from tipping. There are numerous configurations inherent to the design, but since we will be using it initially to paint the barn’s inside walls, I went with a basic scaffold option (note in the other photo the four sliding brackets provided to support a miter saw are on the upper shelf two of the four sliding brackets are for supporting longer pieces of work with adjustable height rests also in the photo).Įach of the four corners has a locking 3600 caster that when locked down with the toe of your boot not only prevents wheel rotation but caster rotation as well. The assembly instruction illustrations were clear enough and actual assembly was very simple and straight forward. All the interior parts were secured with nylon cable ties and seemed to have traveled well without any damage. I carefully cut free the inside area of the box top from its sides with a razor knife to expose the multi-purpose scaffold components inside because working alone, I could not tilt the heavy box and remove the entire box top in one piece. We had to be extra careful because the long pallet was broken on one side (see photo) and nails were exposed underneath. We slid it carefully into my neighbor’s pickup and took it up to the barn. ![]() plus a long pallet, this was definitely a 2-man operation. This was delivered by a long 18-wheeler so had to be unloaded at the end of our driveway, and at 162 lbs.
